Sampling my song doesn’t bother me— Adane Best

Date:

Story by Samuella Mantebea Okantah

Legendary highlife musician Adane Best has disclosed that most artists, especially Ga artists, produce songs using his lyrics, but he is unbothered because we need more songs, and all he requires is respect from such artists.

“My style is unique and hits different amongst all the artists in Ghana,” he declared on the Max Morning Live Show as he stated the reason why he is not hurt by artists copying lyrics from his songs.

He, however, mentioned that he once produced a song that did not hit as expected, yet some artists used the melody but changed the rhythm and language of the song, and it became a big hit for them.

“I once produced a song that didn’t hit, but some two artists used the melody of my song but changed the beat and language, and it was a big hit,” he said.

He then advised the youth to give respect to their elders and those they get inspiration from, citing Black Sherrif as an example, and revealed that Black Sherrif will go far, for he will keep on blessing and supporting them.
