Rodri, according to reports, has expressed eagerness to join Real Madrid this summer.
The move, however, remains stalled due to doubts from Madrid president Florentino Pérez.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner is reportedly holding off on extending his contract with Manchester City because his top ambition is to make the move to the Santiago Bernabéu.
The 30-year-old is said to be enticed by the prospect of playing for Los Blancos and has opened the door to a transfer. However, no concrete progress has been made as of yet.
The main reason for the impasse appears to be the stance of Florentino Pérez. The Real Madrid president is reportedly not fully convinced about the opportunity to sign the Spanish midfielder, despite the player’s interest and the strong push from José Mourinho, who is believed to have played a role in reactivating the talks.
