The Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ridge Hospital, has cautioned the public against assault on its staff.
In the cause to get two accident victims treated at the emergency triage at the hospital, friends and relatives of the victims were embroiled in a face-off with the hospital staff.
A viral video on social media depicted the friends and relatives in a heated confrontation with the hospital, which was also attending to critically ill patients.
In response, management of the hospital in an official statement said the relatives of the accident victims “invaded the emergency triage”, causing disruptions that temporarily halted services.
“Their overwhelming presence disrupted the smooth delivery of care, caused unnecessary tension, and even threatened the safety of our clinicians,” it added.
Head of Public Relations Juliana Hariwa assured of the hospital’s commitment to delivering timely and quality healthcare.
