Reggae/dancehall artiste Ras Kuuku has expressed concern about how he has been sidelined in the industry despite his contributions for its rise over the years.
According to him, he is not the only one whose effort is not appreciated, and he mentioned Hiplife artiste, Yaa Pono as one of the industry’s best who is not honored for his work.
Ras Kuuku raised this concern during a recent media interview where he mentioned that his efforts in the Ghana entertainment space are underrated.
“There are a lot of artists in the country I helped groom, but once they made it, they didn’t recognize me. Even before Ebony became popular, Bullet called me once to feature on a song with his new artist. Yaa Pono has also done a lot for others, but has he received the appreciation he deserves?” he queried.
Ras Kuuku said appreciation propelled one to do more and underscored the need for the industry to be appreciative.
Touching on his performance, the “Puom” man blew his horn and saw no competition for him in the industry as far as the live band was concerned.
“I am the best. I haven’t had the chance to showcase this as much as I should, but when it comes to performing with a live band or even on a beat, no one comes close,” Ras Kuuku added.
