PrideSpins Partners Football Impact Africa for Teshie Football Gala

Date:

On September 27, 2025, the Teshie community buzzed with energy as PrideSpins, in partnership with Football Impact Africa—organisers of the prestigious Ghana Football Awards—hosted the eagerly awaited Teshie Community Football Tournament at TEPS Park.

More than a football event, it was a vibrant day-long festival of sports, education, and community connection, centred on the themes of empowerment, discipline, and opportunity.

The day began not with referee whistles but with inspiration and dialogue. Local youth gathered for the Ghetto Love & FinPower Players Workshop, setting an uplifting tone for the matches ahead.

Mr Prince Emekor Azanu, Officer in Charge at the Ghana National Anti-Doping Committee, delivered a compelling session on the dangers of drug abuse in sports, emphasising the need for discipline and fair play. He cautioned young footballers that talent without responsibility could easily be squandered.

Ms Anita Nadia Attah, Director of FinPower and Football Impact Africa, followed with an engaging talk on financial literacy, urging athletes to “play smart on and off the field”. Her insights on financial discipline for long-term stability resonated with players and spectators alike.

The workshop embodied PrideSpins’ holistic approach: fostering not only skilled footballers but also well-rounded individuals.

A key highlight was the venue’s significance. The tournament took place at TEPS Park, Teshie, made available through the support of Rev. Charles Bannerman Siaw Obeng, community leader and manager of the Nana Amponsah Memorial AstroTurf Park at Teshie Estate.

Inspired by the success of the previous Ghetto Love Initiative, which showcased football’s power to instill discipline and drive positive change, Rev. Obeng provided TEPS Park for this year’s event. His decision offered a grander stage for both the matches and workshops, reflecting the community’s trust in the PrideSpins–Football Impact Africa partnership.

After the workshops, the focus shifted to the pitch, where eight dynamic teams—Sealady Stars, Aliciod Boys, Jamboree, Gonnor Skull, Salem Stars, More Time, and So Events Stars—competed fiercely.

The matches brimmed with goals, chants, and raw passion. Salem Stars emerged as champions, lifting the trophy, while So Events Stars secured second place with grit, and More Time Stars claimed third, driven by their standout striker. Enoch Laryea Sowah of More Time Stars earned the Top Scorer Award for his consistent brilliance.

Winners received cash prizes and branded souvenirs from PrideSpins, but the generosity extended further. Community members enjoyed raffle draws with exciting prizes, including television sets, headsets, and soundbars, with cheers rivalling those for the day’s goals.

The event’s success was amplified online by Ernest Ghartey, PrideSpins’ Social Media Manager, who kept the community engaged with real-time updates across platforms.

In his remarks, Kwadwo Opoku Amaning-Kwarteng, Country Manager for PrideSpins, underscored the company’s dedication to community empowerment and praised the effective collaboration with Football Impact Africa.

He noted, “PrideSpins is about more than games and entertainment—it’s about giving back, inspiring youth, and using football as a tool for growth and opportunity.”

As the sun set, Teshie had experienced more than a football tournament—it had witnessed unity, education, and celebration. PrideSpins and Football Impact Africa created a space where talent met opportunity, and fun blended seamlessly with learning. For many, this was not just an event; it was a movement.
