The Ghana Police Service, a few hours after the lifeless body of a final-year Biological Science student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) was discovered, moved to arrest a person of interest, Daniel Tuffuor.
The deceased, identified as Joana Deladem Yabane (21), was said to be with her boyfriend, the suspect, when her friends last saw her.
Reports are circulating on social media that there is CCTV footage capturing the deceased being attacked and dragged to the Disability and Rehab Centre on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
A statement by the Ghana Police Service confirmed the act of violence, as marks were found on the corpse after an examination.
Many of the students have condemned the security on the campus, lamenting on social media, the school’s lackadaisical attitude at their complaints.
A student on campus shared with popular YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon that prior to her demise, Joana had reported an attack, losing her phone to the attacker.
