Osimhen to become highest paid African footballer

Date:

Al-Hilal have increased their offer in a desperate attempt to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen this summer.

The figures could make Osimhen the highest-earning footballer from Africa.

According to Goal, the Saudi Pro League side have tabled a contract offer worth up to €50m per year without bonuses, in a bid to tempt the 26-year-old.

Al-Hilal already offered to pay Osimhen €30m per year, after they activated his €75m release clause, but he rejected the offer.

Despite hoping to wrap up the transfer before the Club World Cup, Al-Hilal failed to strike a deal.

However, it is understood that their interest in the Super Eagles striker remains strong and they will do whatever it takes to sign him.

Riyad Mahrez, who plays for Ah-Ahli, is currently the highest-paid African player

The 34-year-old moved to the Saudi Pro League club from Manchester City and earns €1,003,846 per week.
