Neymar ends international career

Date:

Brazilian legend Neymar Junior has announced his retirement from international football.

The Seleção’s top scorer’s announcement comes after their elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

After scoring Brazil’s only goal from the penalty spot in stoppage time, Neymar confirmed that his dream of winning a World Cup with his country will remain unfulfilled.

“I tried, I tried. I started here, I finished here. Now, it’s over,” he said after the game on Sunday.

After carrying the Seleção for more than fifteen years, Neymar is leaving behind the legacy of one of the greatest players in Brazilian football history.
