Epiphany Ladies and Halifax Queens played out an exciting 2-2 draw at the Nyaho Borstal Astro Turf in Roman Ridge, Accra.
The two sides kicked off matchday 11 in a scintillating fashion on Friday, February 7, 2025.
Halifax Queens spurned an early chance to take the lead till Rita Doku poked them ahead in the 36th minute of the game after Epiphany goalkeeper, Safiatu Salifu, failed to turn away the first attempt from Seidatu Wahab.
The visitors increased their shock lead a few minutes into the second half through experienced forward, Gloria Fosuwaa.
Epiphany made tactical tweaks after conceding the second, as Gifty Osei was brought on, changing the whole dynamic of the game.
The home team made more progressive passes into the final third of their opponents. Their efforts eventually paid off as Captain fantastic Leticia Adjei, halved the deficit, courtesy of an assist from Loretta Akyaa Afful.
Afful turned goalscorer in the dying embers of the game after U17 player, Jessica Appiah Asamoah’s industrious effort to square the ball for the former to restore parity.
Epiphany may feel an opportunity is missed to go top of the Southern zone, with Police Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies set to play their respective games over the weekend.
Head coach of the home team, Emmanuel Selassie Pentem, lauded his warriors for their splendid comeback but remains optimistic of finishing top of the pile at the end of the season.
