Less than twenty-four hours after the announcement of his departure from Chelsea after just a season, Mauricio Pochettino is already linked to top European managerial positions.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are rumored to be the clubs in pursuit of the Argentine manager, who left the two-time UEFA Champions League winners by mutual consent on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
Pochettino, 52, may have decided to be unemployed at the right time, given the top clubs circling around him.
The former Ligue 1 winner with Paris St-Germain was close to being sacked at the start of 2024 due to Chelsea’s inconsistent performances in the Premier League, but managed to lift the club from 11th place in April to a 6th place finish in May.
The Red Devils have been for a while lingering with the idea of letting go of Dutchman Erik Ten Hag, who has been wearing thin the patience of fans of the club.
Bayern Munich are now without a coach ahead of the new season after Thomas Tuchel agreed to leave the club at the end of the 2023–24 season.
