#MaxEntertainment: Ghanaians don’t celebrate deserving musicians –  Amandzeba

Date:

Veteran highlife musician Nat Brew, known by his stage name Amandzeba, has asserted that Ghanaians fail to celebrate those whose honor is due them.

According to him, they cut corners to celebrate some individuals who were not worthy of being celebrated.

He therefore advised musicians not to seek fame with their music, as acknowledgment and celebration were not prerequisites for one’s achievements to be validated in the industry.

In recent media interactions, Amandzeba said the importance of personal fulfillment and commitment to one’s craft was key, not unnecessary attention-seeking.

He insisted that success was not solely validated by external accolades and public celebration but by personal fulfillment.

Talking about the impact that his music has made, the “Kpalogo Y3de” hitmaker averred that he felt celebrated whenever people told him they loved his music.

“People don’t necessarily have to celebrate you to know that you are doing well. I have had this conviction that I am celebrated when people tell me they love my music. I know I have done great songs, and if people praise me for them, it is enough celebration,” he said.

Liking his achievement to Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Amandzeba noted that people fail to celebrate and honor who honor is due and took consolation in the fact that he did not sing to be celebrated.

“This is a country where Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was overthrown after all he did for Ghana. Any good that comes from this country will not be well celebrated, so I take consolation from the fact that I am not doing music to be celebrated,” he said.

The musician urged colleagues whose work was not appreciated not to feel bad about it.

“So don’t feel bad as a musician that Ghana does not celebrate you. When you believe in yourself and the product you have, people will love you for it,” he added.
