#MAXBUSINESS:EM&I & Stark Energy Enhance Local Content & Knowledge Transfer with FPSO OJT in Angola & Côte d’Ivoire

Date:

The enduring partnership between EM&I and Stark Energy is taking a significant step forward with a dedicated effort to deepen local content and enhance safety standards through a comprehensive initiative.

Focused on asset integrity management services (AIMS), inspection, and rescue services onboard Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSOs) offshore Angola and Côte d’Ivoire, this collaborative venture underscores EM&I and Stark Energy’s commitment to excellence.

Recently, Neil C. Woodcock of EM&I visited Ghana to reinforce the EM&I/Stark Energy Channel Partnership, now fully approved and certified by the Petroleum Commission (PC) of Ghana.

One of the core aspects of this collaboration is the on-the-job training (OJT) provided by EM&I to certified engineers from Stark Energy. This initiative aims to transfer essential knowledge and skills while nurturing local talent in the AIMS sector. Already, two Stark Engineers have gained offshore experience with EM&I teams through this program, with two more set to join in the near future.

In Angola, the collaborative project involves four integrated phases, including remotely operated vehicle (ROV) UWILD services, ODIN® underwater techniques, non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections, and advanced valve and sea chest isolations.

These cutting-edge technologies, such as LIMPET® and bladder plug systems, ensure thorough inspections and maintenance activities while minimizing downtime and enhancing safety.

Similarly, in Côte d’Ivoire, the joint efforts extend to routine NDT inspections and exclusive standby rescue services. Utilizing state-of-the-art integrity class ROVs and advanced inspection methodologies like ODIN, the team ensures comprehensive assessments of critical assets without compromising safety or efficiency.

Through meticulous NDT inspections and standby rescue services, the combined team demonstrates a steadfast commitment to safety, detail, and industry excellence offshore Côte d’Ivoire.

This collaborative endeavor not only elevates asset integrity but also sets a benchmark for industry standards, showcasing the convergence of safety, operational excellence, and technological innovation.

As EM&I and Stark Energy continue their joint journey, their focus on local content development and knowledge transfer within the ECOWAS/West African regions promises a sustainable impact on local economies and the growth of both companies.
