Brazilian winger Angelo Gabriel, 18, has joined Chelsea from Santos for an undisclosed sum.
He made his professional debut against Fluminense in the Maracana Stadium in October 2020 at the age of 15 years and 308 days, becoming the youngest player in the history of Brazil’s top division.
Angelo has since scored five goals in 129 games with Santos.
At age 16, he scored in April 2021, making history as the Copa Libertadores’ youngest goal scorer.
The left-footed attacker Angelo has played for Brazil at the under-15, under-17, and under-20 levels but has not been called up to the senior international team.
He is Chelsea’s third signing of the summer window, following the £52 million acquisition of France forward Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig and the move of Villarreal’s Nicolas Jackson, a 22-year-old striker from Senegal.
