MAX MORNING DEW: AG has not revoked license but delayed – GHAMRO

Date:

The CEO of Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), Captain Abraham Adjatey, has denied an accusation on MAX FM’s Morning Dew (MMD) 89.7FM made by Akosua Agyapong and other members on various media platforms.

Speaking to host Franky5, captain Adjatey reiterated that allegations of his outfit’s revocation of their license had never been the case, and if there should be anything of a sort, official documentation could have been sent to the organization.

“In actual fact, the government of the Republic of Ghana has not revoked GHAMRO’s license.”

“Even the law requires the attorney general’s office to send an official letter stating so, but to date, GHAMRO hasn’t received any such letter from the attorney general’s office, “he told MAX 89.7FM.

GHAMRO was set up some 18 years ago and was tasked with collecting some royalties and representing the rights of music copyright holders in Ghana.

GHAMRO was previously led by the following personalities: Carlos Sekyi, Amandzeba Nat Brew, K.K. Kabobo, Mark Okraku Mantey, Charles Amoah, Kojo Antwi, Obour, and Rex Omar.

The organization is still awaiting its license renewal from the Attorney General’s Office, hence the delay, but they’re still operating normally and even paid their workers recently.
