Gabriel Jesus believes Arsenal’s lack of title-winning experience amongst the squad after their 3-3 draw with relegation-threatened Southampton in the Premier League on Friday evening.
Thomas Partey’s side has picked up just three points from their last three games, cutting short their lead from eight to five points.
The Gunners staged a late fightback to rescue a point against Southampton, having been 3-1 down with just minutes to go of regular time.
‘I don’t think it’s the pressure or something like that like people want to talk. Obviously, we are I think the youngest team in the league. No excuses, but that is a thing to be thinking about,’ Jesus said after the game.
Arsenal’s squad is the joint-youngest in the division alongside Friday’s opponents Southampton with an average age of 24.4 years.
‘We have no experience of champions and then obviously, sometimes if we want to try, if we want to play good like we were playing from the start of the season we have to try and sometimes we do right and sometimes we do wrong.’
‘Everyone here can make a mistake, that’s why it’s so important to stick together. Now it’s time for recovery and to rest our minds and body and then keep fighting,’ he continued.
