MAX ENTERTAINMENT: Make the industry accessible to young talents – Star Sewa

Date:

Fast rising Afrobeat singer, Richard Dunor known in the showbiz circles as Star Sewa has expressed grievances about how stakeholders had tightened the industry to make it unwelcoming for the young musicians.

He noted that the stakeholders knew themselves and mostly rendered lending hands to well known musicians, not the upcoming ones.

Speaking in an interview with Max Morning Dew in Accra on Wednesday, the “Toli” hitmaker blamed his inability to become a household name on some familiar musicians who had failed to support him to rise to the top in the industry.

“I started with Fameye and Kuami Eugene but they are not ready to help simply because they knew once they helped ‘you’ you might excel than them,” he said.

Touching on how connections in the industry could propel musicians, Star Sewa said young musicians needed support from all stakeholders, including musicians and music lovers, to rise to the top.

He said collaborations with renowned artistes and sharing of contents on social media by Ghanaians could help young artistes and urged the industry to accommodate and support young talents to excel.

Star Sewa said against those backdrops, his management was forging ahead to get the necessary collaborations and assistance for him to excel in the industry.

He also advised young musicians to get a side job so that they could invest in their music for it to develop in the right way.
