Kofi Kinaata’s artistry became a guiding light that emboldened me to chase my musical dreams, singer Lasmid Owusu Nathaniel has revealed.
Known widely as Lasmid, the “Friday Night” hitmaker, who expressed his admiration for co-fante musician and songwriter Kofi Kinaata, said the latter’s craft motivated him to do music.
“Before I came into the music industry, I looked up to Kofi Kinaata. He motivated me to do music.
I really like Kofi Kinaata, and I like Stonebwoy too. They all have different vibes, and I feel all of them,” he declared.
During a recent interview, Lasmid said Kinaata has left an indelible mark on him, and being a musician who also hails from Takoradi, following the footprint of Kinaata was hard but worth it.
He said to properly craft his music to meet expectations, he joined forces with him in the past on a harmonious collaboration that resonated with audiences.
“I even have a song with him. I did my first song with him, ‘OdO Brass Band.’ It’s from 2019,” Lasmid stated.
The track, he said, served as a melodic embodiment of their shared passion for music and their mutual commitment to artistic excellence.
