MAX ENTERTAINMENT: Gospel music lacks investors – Patience Nyarko laments

Date:

Sensational Gospel Musician, Patience Nyarko has bemoaned how gospel musicians in the country are fighting with their fate to get investors to invest into their crafts.

She asserts that there is not a single gospel performer in the nation who can proudly claim to be signed to a reputable record company.

Speaking in an interview on Max Morning Dew on Friday in Accra, Patience Nyarko stated that when she embraced professional music, there was no record label unlike the three or two record labels which were in existence back then.

“Now when you see any record label in the country it is just about me and my boyfriend or me and my husband record labels,” she lamented.

The “Obi Nyani me” hitmaker claimed that before a gospel musician could reach the limelight, the person has struggled and has moved mountains to reach that point, thus called on investors to invest into their music to enable them compete evenly with the secular musicians.

Regarding the various businesses she runs besides music, Patience Nyarko disclosed that she started selling clothes to get by after the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) imposed its limitations and had an impact on the sector.

That, she said, helped her gain side money to also help in her music promotion.

Currently, the talented gospel artiste has released new track dubbed: “Tears of Joy” which she said drove its inspiration from what God has done for her ever since she came into the world.

“It was not easy starting up but if I tell you what God has done for me it will take several hours for me to voice it out. We can’t even leave this place today, what I am experiencing now is tears of joy,” she added, and called on fans to streamline the new track from all the digital platforms.

Patience Nyarko has been in the industry for a decade. She shot to fame in 2013 after releasing her gospel smash hit “Mennwu” from the album “Mekasa Ama Ewurade.”

She is known for tracks including “Eboboba”, “Wa fom kwan”, “Anibre Mpeaye” among others and in 2016 she won the Pan-Africa Inspirational Gospel Songwriter of the year for her commitment, dedication and immense contribution in spreading the gospel and reforming people through music.

Ahead of the 2016 elections, Patience Nyarko composed a peace song christened, “Ye Pe Asomdwe,” which specifically aimed at increasing awareness on the need for a peaceful election.
