Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)-bound, Comoros, are looking to use clash against Ghana as preparation for the Continental showpiece.
The Coelacanths of Comoros, once on the heels of Ghana for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, waved the white flag after a home defeat to Madagascar in the penultimate round of the qualifiers.
Host nation of the 2025 AFCON, Morocco, will kick off the tournament against Comoros on December 21, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, in Rabat.
Stephen Cusin, the head coach of Comoros, disclosed his team will view the game against Ghana as a preparational game ahead of the AFCON, and especially against the Moroccans.
“For us it’s a big challenge first of all because we’re going to face Ghana, that is one of the best teams in Africa. The stadium will be full and we would expect the same atmosphere when we take on Morocco because we play the first game against them in Rabat,” Cusin said at the pre-match press conference.
The Black Stars will look to secure their place at the FIFA World Cup with a win against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at 3 p.m.
