Man City star Nunes arrested for phone theft in nightclub toilet

Portugal and Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes has been arrested by Madrid police for allegedly stealing a mobile phone.

The incident was reported to have occurred in a nightclub by Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, at La Rivera nightclub on September 8, 2024.

According to the report, the former Wolves star snatched a 58-year-old man’s phone who tried to take a photo of him without permission in the washroom of the nightclub.

El Mundo also revealed the Brazilian-born player admitted to still having the phone in his possession.

Nunes was later released by the Madrid police hours after the arrest, following the intervention of a lawyer.
