Head coach of the Black Satellites of Ghana, Desmond Ofei, has reiterated the team’s main ambition at the ongoing 2025 CAF Under-20 African Cup of Nations.
The Black Satellites endured a tough opening game in the tournament after drawing 1-1 with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on the night of Friday, April 2.
With the DRC picking up a win in their second group game, Ghana came face-to-face with defending champions Senegal in the West African derby.
Emmanuel Mensah recovered from a shaky performance in the first game to score the winner for Desmond Ofei’s team, handing them a significant advantage of achieving their target of booking a place at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Speaking after the game with the press, Desmond Ofei said, “Our main goal is to qualify for the World Cup. That’s the focus. Each match and positive result take us a step closer,” emphasizing their aim.
In their last group game, the young Ghanaians would face the Central African Republic on Thursday, 8th May 2025.
