King Faisal was defeated by Berekum Chelsea to move up to the top of the betPawa Premier League.

Date:

On the first day of the betPawa Premier League on Monday at Nana Agyeman Badu II Park, Berekum Chelsea defeated King Faisal 2-0.

Due to Golden City Park in Berekum’s objection, the game was played at Dormaa Park instead.

Berekum Chelsea got out to the better start of the two teams and took the lead in the 11th minute through new signing Afriyie Mezack, who connected with a cross from Kalou Ouattarra.

The home team had a field day, and they can thank Abdul Jabil for making some outstanding stops to preserve the score at 1-0.

The home team had a slim 1-0 advantage going into halftime, but it might have been more thanks to some outstanding goalkeeping from Abdul Jabil and the heroics of King Faisal.

Awuah Dramani, a former Young Apostles striker, added a second goal in the 57th minute to make it 2-0 after the break.

With a 2-0 victory, Berekum Chelsea has ascended to the top of the inaugural betPawa Premier League.
