KARELA UNITED 1-1 HEARTS OF OAK: Richmond Ayi stops Karela United

Date:

Richmond Ayi’s superb penalty save late in Hearts of Oak’s 1-1 draw with Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium preserves his side’s good run of form.

Emmanuel Owusu Boakye headed Karela United in front in the 7th minute from a well-placed long throw to unsettle the Phobians.

Hearts of Oak’s newest talisman, Hamza Issah, responded with an equally good headed goal from a Salifu Ibrahim corner-kick five minutes before halftime.

Richmond Ayi, the goalkeeper for Hearts of Oak, whose incredible plays have kept him ranked first, produced another superb save from the penalty spot to keep his team in the match.

The center-line official’s decision to turn down a penalty in the 94th minute against Hearts of Oak left the players utterly dismayed.

With 10 points, the Phobians currently sit eighth in the league, while Karela is in 14th place with nine points.
