Today, Monday, November 17, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama will swear in Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie as the Chief Justice of Ghana.
Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s swearing in comes after Parliament’s approval of his nomination following an appearance before the Appointments Committee.
He was nominated in September 2025 to replace Justice Getrude Torkonoo, who had served from former President Nana Akuffo Addo’s administration into the first eight months of President Mahama’s.
The former Appeals Court judge has pledged a bipartisan style of leadership and an open-door policy in his time as the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana.
