JUST IN: Roma sign Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea

Date:

Romelu Lukaku has officially signed a loan deal with Roma for the 2023–24 season, costing little over €9 million.

Lukaku left Inter in 2021 to join Chelsea, and after a falling out with the London club, returned to Inter on loan.

Lukaku wanted to return to Inter this season but was disappointed by Simone Inzaghi’s decision to sit him out of the Champions League Final.

He also enraged Inter supporters when his attempted move to bitter rival Juventus was speculated, and they refused to see him play for the Nerazzurri once more.

Lukaku was under Jose Mourinho’s management at Manchester United in the 2017–18 season, and the team has been in need of a striker ever since Tammy Abraham sustained an ACL tear a few months ago.
