The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a nationwide schedule of emergency and planned maintenance works set for Wednesday, July 16, 2025, across multiple regions.
The works are part of efforts to improve power supply stability, and will result in temporary outages in affected areas.
Western Region
- Time: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Areas Affected: Ateiku, Esaman, Jerusalem, Akyempim, Akosombo, Kubekrom, Nsadweso, Subrie, and surrounding communities.
- Reason: Emergency maintenance to fix urgent faults and restore stable service.
Ashanti Region
- Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Areas Affected: Santase, Odeneho Kwadaso, OWASS, CAC University, Patase, Apire, Trede, Ampabame (No.1 & 2), Tanoso, Twedie, Foase, Manso Adubia, and over 30 other suburbs.
- Scope: Extensive planned maintenance to enhance supply reliability.
Volta Region
- Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Areas Affected: Hodzo and neighbouring communities.
- Purpose: Improve service quality and reduce unplanned outages.
Greater Accra Region
- Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Areas Affected: Gbawe Top Base, McCarthy Hill, Weija Junction, Tetegu, Glefe, Mallam Junction, Amrahia, Oyibi, Lakeside Estates, Community 6 & 8, New Legon, and nearby towns.
- Goal: Planned maintenance to strengthen grid performance.
Tema Region
- Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Areas Affected: Jericho, Roman Down, Adjei Kodjo, Community 25, Afienya Zongo, Akplabanya, Goi, Mataheko, and others.
- Activity: Network maintenance to ensure system efficiency.
The ECG has apologised for any inconvenience these outages may cause and encouraged all customers to treat all electrical lines and appliances as live during the period.
“We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” ECG stated. “These maintenance works are necessary to improve service quality and system reliability.”
