‎Medikal refuses to pay DJ Azonto’s $100m copyright compensation

Date:

Renowned rapper Medikal is believed to have responded to a colleague, DJ Azonto, who is demanding a $100 million compensation for a supposed copyright infringement.

It could be recalled that the management of the “Fa No Fom” hitmaker issued a statement on July 9, 2025, demanding $100m and some diamond chains, among other things, as compensation from Medikal for not seeking his authorisation before using his popular term “Alla” in his new single, “Shoulder.”

“The term ‘Alla,’ which forms part of DJ Azonto’s signature slogan ‘Alla Woyo,’ has been a well-established part of his image, performances, and fan culture.”

DJ Azonto is demanding $100 million cash, a fully activated diplomatic passport for his mother, 10 diamond chains, three brand new Rolls Royce (for his daughters), a 90% ownership stake in Shaxi, a beach house in Miami, and a public apology,” the statement read.

Responding to the demands, Medikal took to his X handle on July 10, 2025, to use a cryptic social media term, “Killa Ntua,” to claim that he would not pay.
