JUST IN : Dansoman Backs Alfred Nelson at Tuba Showdown

Date:

Fans of Alfred Nelson in Dansoman and surrounding communities are planning a massive show of support at the Tuba AstroTurf as Hohoe United takes on Attram De Visser Academy in a crucial Division One League clash this Friday.

The movement, led by loyal followers of the former Liberty Professionals captain, is aimed not only at pushing Hohoe United to victory but also guarding against any bad officiating that could mar the game.

Alfred Nelson, who was born and raised in Dansoman, captained Dansoman Liberty for over five years, earning deep respect and admiration within the community. Now a central figure at Hohoe United, his influence has stirred an emotional wave across his hometown.

“Alfred is one of our own. From the days at Liberty to now, he’s always represented Dansoman with pride. We’re heading to Tuba in our numbers to stand with him,” said Kojo Mensah, a fan leader coordinating buses from Russia, Sahara, and Exhibition.

The fans have also taken an unusual but symbolic step—an unofficial petition to FIFA-retired referee Alex Kotey, now in charge of refereeing affairs in Ghana. They’re calling on him to ensure that the “knights of the whistle” assigned to the game uphold fairness, integrity, and neutrality.

The petition, circulating on WhatsApp and Facebook fan pages, emphasizes the need for clean, transparent officiating, especially as the match has significant implications for both clubs’ ambitions this season.

The clash between Hohoe United and Attram De Visser is one of the most anticipated fixtures in the second tier of Ghana football this weekend. Both clubs are in the hunt for promotion, and tensions are high as fans, players, and management all seek a fair outcome.

With Dansoman supporters mobilizing from Mamprobi, Banana Inn, and Agege, and plans for live drumlines and supporter chants, the Tuba AstroTurf is set to feel like a home ground for Alfred Nelson.

“We’re not just watching a game,” said Akosua Appiah, a Liberty fan. “We’re standing for justice, passion, and loyalty.”
