The family of legendary Ghanaian highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba, has officially expressed its gratitude to the public for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support following his passing after a brief illness.
In a public announcement released on July 27, 2025, through their legal representatives Baba Jamal & Associates, the Fosu family extended heartfelt appreciation to well-wishers, colleagues, fans, and the general public for their prayers and solidarity during this time of mourning.
To honour Daddy Lumba’s memory, the family has outlined two key events:

Book of Condolence – This will be opened at the late musician’s private residence on Kinshasha Crescent, house number 12 (GA-332-9264), starting Tuesday, July 29, 2025, and will be accessible daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Candlelight Vigil Night – A national vigil will be held at Independence Square on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. under the auspices of the Creative Arts Agency.
The family urged the public to continue respecting their privacy as they grieve while encouraging everyone to join in celebrating the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of Daddy Lumba.
