Jordan Opoku, a former Asante Kotoko player, has voiced his displeasure with the caliber and demeanor of the team’s current players.
Jordan Opoku claims that the players’ lack of effort and failure to pick up new skills is the reason why the squad has been having trouble.
Jordan Opoku thinks that this lack of effort has resulted in subpar performance and played a part in Kotoko’s elimination from the MTN FA Cup after a 1-0 loss to Aduana Stars.
He further charged that rather than accepting accountability for their acts, the players blamed the referees and other parties for their losses.
Jordan Opoku said in an interview with an Accra-based FM station that the players need to take the initiative and work harder if they want to succeed.
He emphasized that there is only so much a coach can do and that it is up to the players to take training seriously.
In their previous five games, Asante Kotoko, who is presently in third place in the Ghana Premier League, have won one, lost twice, and drawn once.
