Ghanaian striker Jonathan Sowah has finalized a high-profile transfer to Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars SC from Al Nasr Benghazi, with a reported fee of USD 220,000.
The 24-year-old forward will reunite with fellow Ghanaians Emmanuel Keyekeh and Ibrahim Imoro at Singida, further strengthening the team’s Ghanaian contingent. Despite being under contract with Libyan side Al Nasr until December 2025, Sowah made the switch after just one year with the club.
Sowah initially joined Al Nasr in January 2024 from Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC for USD 200,000. During his stint, he was a standout performer in the CAF Champions League, playing a crucial role in the team’s campaign, though they fell short as Egypt’s Al Ahly clinched the title.
The striker first gained prominence in Medeama’s 2022-2023 Ghana Premier League-winning season, scoring 12 goals and providing one assist in 20 matches. His stellar performances earned him a call-up to Ghana’s national team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations under coach Chris Hughton.
Sowah’s move to Singida Black Stars signals a new chapter in his career as he looks to leave a mark on Tanzanian football and continue building his impressive reputation on the African stage.
