The recent appointment of Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak has led to many wondering about the status of former coach Aboubakar Ouattara at the club.
Mr Ouattara has been with the former African champions from the second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season to the end of the 2024/25 season but failed to live up to expectations.
With his impressive CV, Mr Ouattara was envisaged as the one to finally bring the Phobians to where they belong after two years in the wilderness. However, he has been heavily criticised for his performance at the club.
He surpassed his very own prediction at the end of the 2024/25 season by finishing fourth on the league standings after having famously said that his team would focus on avoiding relegation ahead of the start of that particular season.
Kwame Opare Addo, the communication director of Hearts, has refuted reports purporting that the experienced Ivorian gaffer has been elevated to the technical director position in an interview on Asempa FM.
“Mr Ouattara is not the technical head. The position has been taken over by Didi Dramani. Whatever relationship the club has with Mr Ouattara, the club will officially come out, and everybody will get to know,” Mr Addo stated.
Hearts of Oak will release an official communique on the status of Mr Ouattara.
