Afro-Fusion star, Gyakie has unveiled the title of her maiden album, “After Midnight” to send fans and music enthusiasts into the grove.
According to her, she chose that title since songs on the album got recorded after midnight.
The songbird made the announcement on her Instagram page on Wednesday March 19.
“Within those same hours, I get the best inspiration to write. The peace and quiet, the sounds from the birds, the serenity—everything from those hours helps my creativity a lot,” she said.
The “Rent Free” hitmaker further explained why midnight meant a lot to her and urged her fans to even play the songs after midnight.
“I’ve done a lot of crying after midnight too. When I’m in my down moments, I schedule the tears for when I get home from work, then I let it all out.”
“Also, growing up, my mother would always pray for us after midnight while we were deeply asleep. It was a consistent routine, and she still does it whenever we’re together. To sum it up, this album hits differently when you listen at 12:01 AM or in the early hours of dawn,” she stated.
Prior to the upcoming album, Gyakie has teased fans with her incoming single titled “Sankofa” and urged them to anticipate.
