Greatest Ghanaian of Our Time — H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa-Akuffo Addo

Date:

The outgoing president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa-Akuffo Addo, has been awarded the ‘Greatest Ghanaian of Our Time’ award.

A number of ‘prominent’ individuals were awarded for their service to the development of the country at the 2024 Ghana National Honours.

Instituted in 1960 after Ghana became a Republic, the National Honours and Awards honours meritorious citizens who have selflessly served and contributed to the development of the nation.

Among other winners of the awards included the current Minister of Fisheries, Hawa Koomson; Vice President of Ghana H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia; Hon. Bryan Acheampong; Hon. Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum; and Hon. John Peter Amewu.

The ‘Greatest Ghanaian of Our Time’ award given to H.E. Nana Addo drew mixed reactions on social media. While a section of ‘X’ were visibly against the decision, others celebrated the sitting president.
