GPL Wk6: Atinga scores as Medeama beat Hearts of Oak

Date:

Former Hearts of Oak defender Vincent Atinga scored the only goal of the game as Medeama beat Hearts of Oak 1-0 in an outstanding GPL game.

The game at the Tarkwa Park saw the Phobians approach with confidence.

Hearts had a rough start as Medeama dominated and could have easily scored twice.

In the second half, Ahmed Toure latched onto a through pass but was brought down in the box by Robert Addo Sowah and that resulted in a penalty.

Atinga stepped up and scored against his former club to make it 1-0.

Hearts were reduced to 10 men later in the game after Kojo Obeng Jr was sent off.
