When Asante Kotoko and Accra Lions squared off in the Ghana Premier League(GPL) on Monday night, the team showed no compassion .
The Porcupine Warriors defeated their opponent 4-0 in Week 16 of the 2022–23 Ghanaian top-flight league season to earn all three points.
Top striker Steven Mukwala scored twice during the game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to help the reds to a commanding victory.
Rashid Nortey, a recent addition to Asante Kotoko, started the game’s scoring in the 24th minute with a straightforward tap-in from close range.
Four minutes later, forward Steven Mukwala of Cameroon doubled the advantage for his team.
The Accra Lions did not have the players to mount a comeback in the second half, despite the fact that the two goals at halftime would separate the two teams.
After 90 minutes, Asante Kotoko had a 4-0 victory thanks to goals from Steven Mukwala and Enoch Morisson in the 50th and 57th minutes, respectively.
With today’s victory, Kotoko has moved up to second place in the Ghana Premier League standings.
