Gospel awards come with a loss – Praise Achievement Awards organizer

Date:

The General Manager of Praise Achievement Awards (PAA), Pastor Joseph Nana Sarpong, says holding an award in Ghana, especially for Christians, comes with a great loss rather than profit-making.

According to him, most of the Christian events are done for their impacts and not for making profit.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Max Drive in Accra on Thursday, Sarpong disclosed that his outfit was not making profit from the gospel awards event.

“We don’t do it for profit sake but for impact sake. If you’re asking whether the event is profitable, then no! We are not making money from it. We even give complimentary tickets to those who are involved in the music forum to be at the event for free. Some might view the numbers at the event and deduce that they all bought tickets, but it’s never true,” he said.

Sarpong explained that the awards aimed at celebrating gospel musicians, radio and television personalities, as well as bloggers who promote the gospel in the country for them to be recognized for their efforts.

He said it was necessary for individuals who help promote God’s work to gain recognition for their outstanding job to propel them to do more.

Touching on the awards, Sarpong noted that it was the biggest gospel awards in Africa, which used a holistic and comprehensive approach in their selection and recognition.

He said this year’s edition, which is the third edition of the awards scheme, would recognize lots of musicians and individuals from the Christian fraternity with the 42 categories the awards had.

Sarpong therefore underscored the need for benevolent organizations and individuals to financially assist his outfit to help promote the gospel and honor stakeholders.

Praise Achievement Awards are an annual gospel award established to recognize exceptional achievements in the Christian space.

It is slated for Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Perez Dome, and it will start off with a red carpet at 3:00 pm till the commencement of the awards at 5:00 pm.
