In an exciting match on matchday 28 of the 2023–24 Ghana Premier League, Medeama SC and Asante Kotoko drew 1–1 at Akoon Park.
Asante Kotoko entered the match fresh off a much-needed victory over FC Samartex, looking like a team on a mission.
Ugandan striker Steven Dese Mukwala gave his team the lead in the 22nd minute, and coach Prosper Narteh Ogum was “happy about how they played in the first half” as his team entered the break leading.
But the defending champions dominated the second half all the way through. Nebojsa Kapor’s team’s perseverance paid off in the 56th minute when Diawise Taylor scored the equalizer from the penalty spot.
While Frederick Asare of Kotoko and Black Stars deserves praise for his unwavering will to guarantee that his team departed Tarkwa with a point, Medeama would lament lost opportunities late in the game.
