Ghanaians to enjoy free bundles on these national holidays

Date:

Ghanaians will enjoy free special bundles on five national holidays each year, the Minister of Communications and Digital Technology, Hon. Sam Nartey George, has announced.

On March 6, 2025, the minister revealed the telecommunication networks in Ghana were dishing out free special bundles to citizens to celebrate Independence Day.

Hon. Sam George was addressing the efforts by the government to make internet access more affordable to Ghanaians, considering the recent spike in tariffs in other African countries.

“In the interim, I have agreed with all three network operators to have unique data bundle packages for all subscribers on five national holidays – Independence Day, May Day, Republic Day, Founder’s Day, and Farmers Day,” Hon. George stated at a press briefing on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Commentators on social media welcomed this initiative by the new NDC government when it kicked off on Independence Day.
