Ghana’s Defence Minister, Dr Kofi Omane Boamah, and Environmental Minister, Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala, have been confirmed dead in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Z9 helicopter crash.
The sad incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Adansi Brofoyedu in the Ashanti Region while en route to Obuasi.
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, sadly, announced the death of the sector ministers in a press conference at the Jubilee House.
Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, acting deputy National Security Coordinator and former minister for food and agriculture; Dr Samuel Sarpong, vice chairman of the National Democracy Congress; Mr Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate; Squadron Leader Peter Bafimi Anala; Flying Officer Twum Ampadu; and Sergeant Addo Mensah have also been confirmed dead.
