Ghana records 262 new COVID-19 cases, as count reaches 11,118

According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) the COVID-19 case count of Ghana has crossed 11,000 as 262 new cases of the country are recorded.

The latest COVID-19 updates by the GHS indicates that four hundred and ninety-eight cases were announced midday on Friday, June 12, and barely 12 hours after that, latest figures released by the Ghana Health Service on Saturday, June 13, 2020, indicate that the new case count is now 11,118, with 3,979 recoveries and 48 deaths.

The total COVID-19 active cases now stand at 7,091.

Greater Accra Region still leads with the highest number of cases, 6,888, followed by the Ashanti Region with 1,989 cases.

Regional breakdown of Ghana’s COVID-19 situation:

Greater Accra Region – 6,888

Ashanti Region – 1,989

Western Region – 909

Central Region – 584

Volta Region – 212

Eastern Region – 204

The rest are:

Upper East Region – 128

Western North Region – 79

Oti Region – 48

Northern Region – 37

Upper West Region – 22

Bono East Region – 13

North East Region – 2

Savannah Region – 1

Bono Region – 1

Ahafo Region – 1
