Former Ghanaian international Michael Essien has officially become a UEFA licensed coach after completing his UEFA certificate in football management.
The Black Stars legend nicknamed ‘the bison’ proudly announced his big achievement on his Instagram page on Saturday.
Essien, 41, joined the technical staff as an assistant coach of FC Nordsjælland in September 2020 after training with them for a month period.
He had been linked to the Black Stars job after the departure of Chris Huhgton, and is still considered for the job when Otto Addo leaves as the team’s head coach.
Another Ghanaian to have attained the same height is Black Queens’ 33-year-old Samira Suleman, who also completed hers over the weekend.
