Ghana Football Association to launch Ghana Football Philosophy on July 12

Date:

The Ghana Football Association is pleased to announce the completion of the National Football Philosophy, which represents the football DNA of Ghana. The development of this philosophy involved extensive research and collaboration with various stakeholders within the football ecosystem.

The Technical Directorate of the Ghana Football Association gathered inputs, opinions, and ideas from a wide range of individuals and groups, including the Ministry of Sports, national and club coaches (past and present), administrators, players, referees, supporters, coach instructors, coach educators, politicians, traditional authorities, women in football, and sports media personalities.

The Ghana Football DNA will serve as the guiding coaching and playing philosophy for Ghanaian football. It encompasses several elements, including:

1. Cultural identity and values: Reflecting who we are as a footballing nation.

2. Playing style: Detailing how we approach the game both in possession and out of possession.

3. Development of future Ghanaian players: Identifying the necessary skills and attributes to succeed.

4. Coaching methodology: Outlining coaching approaches for different age groups, from grassroots to elite levels, during training sessions and on matchdays.

5. Support systems: Addressing the tactical, technical, physical, and psychological aspects of player development and support.

The Ghana Football DNA not only defines how Ghana plays football but also takes into account current trends in the sport, areas that need strengthening, and the roadmap to achieving our desired style of play.

The Ghana Football Association, in collaboration with all stakeholders, will officially launch the Ghana Football Philosophy on Wednesday, July 12. Subsequently, it will be fully implemented through technical education programs, ensuring its integration at all levels of football development in the country.
