Organisers of the Ghana Football Awards, through one of their members, Felix Romark, have provided clarification for Hon. John Peter Amewu’s nomination as Chief Executive Officer of the Year.
Queries sprung when the Member of Parliament for the Hohoe Constituency in the Volta Region of Ghana, Hon. Peter Amewu, was named amongst Kwame Danquah (Nations FC), DCOP Lydia Donkor (Police Ladies), and Dr Randy Abbey (Heart of Lions) in the best CEO category, which saw the exclusion of Bibiani Gold Stars CEO Akwasi Adu.
“We got in touch with Hohoe United’s CEO named Edem, but the club insisted that we nominate Peter Amewu and not the club CEO,” Mr Romark stated on Max FM’s Sports Pack show.
Mr Romark, who doubles as a professional Data Analyst, suggested the board of the awards scheme are considering a change of name for that particular category in the subsequent years.
Hon. Peter Amewu has been instrumental in overseeing and ensuring the infrastructural development of the constituency of Hohoe, most notably the Hohoe stadium.
