Businessman and football analyst Simon Jordan has advised against Thomas Partey’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Thomas Partey is set to appear before the Southwark Crown Court on June 8, 2027, to fight charges of rape and sexual assault.

In July 2025, the former Arsenal star was charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault relating to three women for incidents between 2021 and 2022.

Fast-forward to February 2026; he was further charged with two counts of rape relating to a fourth woman regarding non-recent offenses in December 2020.

Now clubless, Partey was booed in the Black Stars of Ghana’s pre-World Cup friendly tie against Wales in Cardiff on the night of Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Reacting to reports of English fans calling for Partey to be withdrawn from the tournament, Simon Jordan asserted it will be in the best interest of all parties if the Ghanaian is hauled off.

Despite his earlier remarks, the former Crystal Palace chairman argued the player is presumptively innocent till proven guilty, so he reserves the right to be on the field.

Jordan believes Partey’s participation at the World Cup may affect the overall performance on the field when rival fans pick on him.

Ghana’s head coach, Carlos Queiroz, on the other hand, has pledged full support for his player, who must be considered innocent till proven guilty.
