The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the approved 2025/2026 academic calendar for basic schools — covering kindergarten, primary, and Junior High Schools.
The calendar, which was announced to school heads, teachers, learners, and stakeholders, outlines term dates, mid-term breaks, and vacation periods.

GES urged all school heads, teachers, parents, and guardians to take note of the dates and ensure adequate preparation for a smooth academic year.
In a statement dated July 12, the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their efforts during the 2024/2025 academic year, which ends on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
