On Sunday, August 3, 2025, several structures near the Madina Redco Flats were razed by a raging inferno.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received a distress call thirty-six minutes after midday, and the Madina Fire Station arrived four minutes later for action.
Fire stations from Legon, Abelemkpe, and the headquarters arrived as reinforcement to help bring down the fire.
According to the GNFS, their collaborative effort saw the fire brought under control at 1:56 pm. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded despite the loss of property.
