FIFA has suspended the Congolese Football Association (FECOFOOT) from all football-related activities with immediate effect.
The suspension comes as a result of serious third-party interference in the affairs of FECOFOOT, which is a direct violation of the association’s obligations under FIFA’s statutes.
This decision was made in consultation with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after two joint FIFA/CAF missions were sent to Brazzaville to assess the situation.
Conditions for Lifting the Suspension
FECOFOOT’s suspension will only be lifted if the following conditions are met:
- Restoring full control of the FECOFOOT headquarters, the Ignié Technical Centre, and all association facilities to FECOFOOT.
- Reinstating the rightful signatories of FECOFOOT’s bank accounts, recognized by FIFA and CAF, and ceasing any attempts to alter them.
- Nullifying or setting aside any legal or administrative decisions granting an ad hoc committee authority over FECOFOOT.
- Ensuring full cooperation to allow FECOFOOT to operate independently, free from external interference.
Until these conditions are met, FECOFOOT will remain suspended, barring Congolese teams and officials from participating in international football activities.
