Tuesday, December 30, 2025, has been slated for the rerun of the Kpandai Constituency Parliamentary elections.
Mr Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director at the Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Department of the Electoral Commission (EC), revealed the election will constitute three candidates.
In November 2025, the Tamale High Court annulled the 2024 parliamentary election results, ordering a rerun.
Justice Emmanuel Brew Plange of the Tamale High Court held that the election was flawed with widespread irregularities and, therefore, ordered a rerun of the election within 30 days.
The annulled results, characterised by violence, had placed the two main candidates, Mr Nyindam (NPP), in the lead with 27,947 votes, representing 53.47 per cent, while Mr Wakpal (NDC) had 24,213 votes, representing 46.33 per cent.
Parliament slumped into chaos on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, as the minority side rejected the declaration of the Kpandai Constituency seat vacant and instead demanded the withdrawal of the statement issued by the House to that effect.
