Today marking the end of the Islamic month of fasting, Ramadan, Vice-president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed his gratitude to almighty Allah for a successful journey.

Dr. Bawumia said the coronavirus pandemic has heavily impacted the 30 days fast; from dawn to sunset, for all Muslim worshippers.

“As we celebrate this year’s Eid, we want to thank Allah for seeing us through one of the most challenging Ramadan in recent times. We have to deal with the restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic, and for that reason, the usual prayers in our mosque’s with our families and loved ones wasn’t the same,” he said.

However, Dr. Bawumia added that the Ramadan was still very successful, as he prayed to Allah to accept their spiritual offerings and bless the country.

“Nonetheless this has been a very spiritually fulfilling experience, and we pray for the almighty Allah to accept our sacrifices during this month of Ramadan and to bless the nation,” he concluded.
